Le Carre's novels are often about how espionage chews people up and spits
them out.  Fleming's novels are adolescent wish-fulfillment.  I have enjoyed
them both, but it should be no secret why Le Carre dislikes Bond -- it's the
antithesis of what he's devoted himself to.
