Here's the word from a good friend who works for Netflix:
"Well, to be fair, Netflix never bought ads nor sponsored his show.
They bought various inventory. Which means the ads could have aired
during news breaks within the time slot when he aired and Netflix
would not have known about it. And, the listener would never know the
difference. It's a bit Byzantine, this media buying thing."
