BA in English, with an archives and preservation track of a Library Science
Master's in the future. I tried for a Master's in Secondary Education but
ran for the door after I got to see what the inside of an NYC public school
was like.
I vaguely became aware of Pynchon sometime before I graduated, but I didn't
know anyone who had read him. Later while working at a restaurant I read
all of P's novels - there seemed to be a larger recognition among coworkers
who were students at NYU and Fordham. I served one person who walked in
carrying a copy of GR, and see people around the city reading that, Lot 49,
and V. from time to time.
