While listening to the well done performance - the sample was from the 
chapters two and three - I noticed two problematic choices in the 
translation: On page 14 the TV-serial 'Dynasty' gets mentioned ("I don't 
know if you're a DYNASTY person ...") and van Gunsteren leaves the title 
untranslated. This seems to me a mistake, because here in Germany the 
serial ran under the title "Der Denver-Clan". With the original but over 
here largely unknown title many readers of the translation will not be 
able to to identify the program;  I also think that movies or TV-serials 
should, if they ran in the country into whose language the text gets 
translated, always be given with the title they in fact had. (Unless, 
perhaps, the original title is extraordinarily poetic which is here not 
the case.)
The second problematic translation I noticed is connected to Daytona's 
advice from pp. 20-21: "Do not, ever, associate with nobody from Jamaica 
the island, he thinks joint custody means who brought the ganja". 
Problem here is 'joint custody' which van Gunsteren translates as 
"gemeinsames Sorgerecht". Which is completely correct but makes it 
nearly impossible to get the joke. (Unless you know the original, or 
have a special interest in US family law, and thus can retranslate it 
right away.)  The only possibility to save the joke here would be a 
decent footnote saying "Im Original: (J)oint custody". But such 
footnotes are common only in the area of non-fiction. There are a lot of 
language based jokes - think "cereal killer" - in this novel that are 
practically impossible to translate.
In general the feeling while listening to Bleeding Edge in German was a 
little bit like watching a new US soap in the dubbed version. It's not 
the same, but you get a feeling for the thing. And then you run to get 
yourself the original DVD. Or book.
