NP but Italy and a clownish anarchist?

Hey, anyone learning about that ex-comic, self-billed clown who ran and got 25% of the
Italian vote. Merry Prankster, Abbie Hoffman-like----I project by my limited history---
I heard him talk a bit on NPR.....trenchant, verbally fearless (it seems), and nerve-striking
within the country........what a world.
 
Is his name Beppo? (It can be looked up). Any European plisters know more?
