My objection is not the comparison of Vibe with Ice? These two, as I
noted, like Pierce Inverarity in P's Lot49, and several others in Pynchon
novels who amass huge power and wealth are, not THE major problem, but
certainly a major cause of death and destruction in the world of the
novels. But Horst, you must admit, is no Vibe, no Ice, no Pierce
Invariety.
Some here are hinting at what seems to be a more subtle and plausible
thesis, that somehow Horst is entangled with Ice and or Windust. And I'm
all ears for that one if anyone cares to spell it out, as Molly Bloom says,
"in plain words".
