Oh dear. I sincerely hope the film can live up to that review.

Which reminds me of another L.A. noir, which Roger Ebert, RIP, 
deservedly praised to the heavens (presumably to make up for his 
devastating but honest review of "Blue Velvet" -- me, I didn't know what 
hit me either): "Mulholland Drive". If "Inherent Vice" is only half as 
good as that movie, it will be a sight to see.
