Yeah, that ampersand sure is BIG and PROMINENT on the front of the book
there, isn't it?
To my conspiratorial mind, those swoops and swirls look like the
traditionalist Mark of the Devil... three entwined sixes... 666!
Anybody else seeing this? And, if it's not just a coinkeedink, what does it
say about what PYNCHON wants to say about America?!
