When (and how) does the Mason & Dixon group reading begin?

Yes - I highlight and make little notes in my Kindle app. I have a Kindle app on my iPad and one on my MacBook. They both highlight and take notes but the Kindle app on the iPad highlights in 4 different colors. Taking notes is simply highlighting a section and clicking the pencil - then you type. You find the notes by clicking a little icon at the top. I think a real Kindle device might have even more options - don’t know.
My notes aren’t anything real special - they could be better. When I’ve done hosting for other group reads I’ve kept a couple of email drafts open for longish notes - (but I couldn’t do that in the margins of a paper book anyway).
I got the Kindle years ago so I wouldn’t have to take an extra suitcase for books to ND when I go there to visit family. Then I fell in love with the font. Then I discovered that if I wanted a book while waiting in the doc’s office I could download and read.
