Inherent Virtue

Not passe for all of us. I live in rural VT and had to arrange to go to Albany. I saw it Thursday with daughter and son-in-law. Really fun with everything essential to IV still intact. Amazing control of pace and storyline. Likely destined for same cult status as The Big Lebowski according to Nick and Bekah. I take it all back about Joaquin Phoenix. Stellar performance. Thought Joanna Newsoms smart squeaky musical voice was perfect for a film that needed and benefitted from narration with no injury IMO to the power of telling through action, lighting, scene etc.
Josh Brolin was fucking perfect. I think they could have worked in a little more of Denis dialog. The detail, the sets, the use of light and color - OMG, agree with Mike. Lived for a while in Newport beach in 71 and wow.
