GR translation: but Tchitcherine has been to Närrisch

blacks don’t know what else Närrisch knew:

Something interesting in the first sentence here that I've just noticed: as
I understand it, "has been to" normally refers to places, but here it's
applied to a person, Närrisch. Is this just informality of speech, or is
there more to it than that?
