Problem with listserv website?

This is actually a question whose urgency will probably grow in coming years.
Does anyone know who pays the WASTE bills? It's registered to a PO Box
in Minneapolis and the hosting is through Comcast. From what I recall
it was set up by some folks who long, long ago let it run free and now
have no connection to it, and possibly even can't get under the hood
themselves these days.
The good side is that it's not subject to anyone's whims (including
our own) and there's no Zuckerberg to decide it would look better with
ad banners or data mining.
The dark side is that it doesn't seem to be archived anywhere outside
of waste.org and if someone stopped forking out to Comcast or a hacker
decided to mess with it, the whole thing could be lost forever.
I say this as someone whose government recently decided to save some
$$$ by pulling the plug on the servers that hosted a lot of the
national arts coverage, so it's irretrievably gone. Imagine how much
easier it is for the internet to forget a small listserv.

Not exactly looking to acquire a domain but would happily help collectivize, own, manage, etc, if that’s what it takes to keep the listserv online.
