The 16 of April 2019 Douglas died after a hard and long fight with his
sickness. He made it to 75 and died in his danish home Maos Lyst,
Copenhagen/Hellerup, DK.
Douglas was remembered by his friends and relatives on the 5th of May at
Maos Lyst, the community in Hellerup that he co-founded in 1968.
Some of us who had the chance to meet Douglas in Valletta and Munich during
the Pynchon weeks to which he took part were for sure mesmerized, as I was,
by his deep inquiries into Pynchon's text and the heavens. As an astrologer
and star gazer he not only showed us the Transit of Venus in June 2004 but
also sent a wonderful letter every year in February or March in which he
would explain the sense of the Chinese New Year on behalf of the year's
animal and element as they are represented in Pynchon's novels.

Hail to the Doug', remember him!
