You know man, they BLEW it - their life doesn't mean anything at the end - just
a couple of dopers selling dope so they can ride the highways of America having
a "good time" - their whole generation, sold out for a cheap high. They can't
break out of the system, just like those hippies at the commune were all going
to starve to death unless they give it up and get jobs. The system wins, cause
the system doesn't care if they live or die.
BTW, there's a lot of criticism out there on this movie, and most of it center's
around your question.
Jean.

Anybody have a clue as to why Peter Fonda says "we blew it" before him
and Dennis (love that hat) Hopper get blown away by those neo-humanoids
in the pick up truck the next morning. The quest-ion of the day:
My reasons;
1. Really bad acid, a graveyard, and Mardi Gras
2. Karen Black muttering I can't feel the outside betwixt the Stones
3. Stuck Inside of Tombstones with the Mopey Blues Again
5. Good Ole Jack listening to bullfrogs before...whap, bumped into
eternity by a goon
