I just found these two

colorful Pynch site) and http://ucunix.san.uc.edu/~sola/prodigious (an 
attempt to compare American fiction of the BIG BOOK variety, particularly 
M&D, Gaddis' Frolic, and Delillo's Underground.  There's also an essay 
comparing Pynch's so-called offspring:  Vollman's Risen Angels, DFW and 
IJ, and Powers' Gold Bug Variations)
