the price is an expanded view of the world that this couple was not privy 
to.  Could be an elaborate joke or something more sinister.  I find the last 
line of the movie somewhat gloomy:  kidman's character wanting to apparently 
forget everything and fuck her brains out.  Unline a truly stupid move like 
_The Game_, there are doubts as to what is real and not.

J. Hoberman in the Village Voice hated the flick, but he seems to think 
Hollywood got back at Kubrick by releasing the film when, in his opinion, it 
wasn't finished, or that they touched up a few things>
after his death.

As an aside, do we judge the worth of a work of art, in part, by what that 
artist has done before?  Can a work stand on its own?
