I'm currently reading Richard Powers's THE TIME OF OUR SINGING, his most
recent, now out in paperback.  I adore it.  It is, I suppose, a family saga
or a sort -- about a biracial couple that comes together because of a love
of music and the story of their kids.  It brilliantly plays with musical
metaphors and also "time" as a metaphor, as the dad is a physicist working
on relativity.  Hence the title.

On a side note, I have NO idea how so many of you can be reading multiple
complex books simultaneously.  The only other book I'm reading now is Jon
Stewart's NAKED PICTURES OF FAMOUS PEOPLE.  Highly recommended, though not
really a work of, er, literature.
