Will--I can't speak for anyone else on the list but voracious and complex (as well as some trashy) reading is what I use to evade the more mundane responsibilities of real life--mundane chores I am exceedingly bad at handling. Today, for instance, is the last day before financial aid information should be submitted for college loans, therefore I'm reading Iris Murdoch's The Good Apprentice AND Robert Musil's A Man Without Qualities, Volume One AND Naipaul's A House for Mr. Biswas AND NOT "How To Meet The Costs: A Guide to Financial Aid for College"...

Only the last of these books is completely incomprehensible to me.
