The Rare Book Room is on the "grey" level (I remember that!) and
it's a wonderful, wonderful place whether or not they have William
Pynchon.

And Portland is a lovely and very progressive city - I'm considering
it as a winter retirement location - (3 years?) - Um, how cold
does it get there in the winter? Wind? Etc? (The spring, summer,
fall selection is, seriously, North Dakota - near Grand Forks.)
